First things first.... It's September.... um... like... September, October, November, December....
The "ber" months are my absolute favorite. FAVORITE months of all!!!! I love fall... I love the weather, the State Fair of Texas, the carnivals, the colors, the recipes, the clothes, the shoes, the windows down, the... the... the everything!!!
So as a start to my favorite season I would like to share with you one of my favorite recipes. It incorporates several of my most loved things... butter, sugar, chocolate chips and pie crust.
Duh it's one of my favorites... duh it is! The recipe is really easy but I must warn you... it's hit or miss. Sometimes I make it and the texture is perfect... the universe loves me :)
And sometimes I make it and it's all gooey and runny.... I do the same thing every time... and then I cross my fingers... please try it.... please cross your fingers... you will not be disappointed!
Chocolate Chip Pie
1 unbaked 9 inch deep dish pie crust
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high until foamy. Beat in flour, white sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter.

Your mix will turn into somewhat of a batter.....

Stir in chocolate chips....

And place in pie crust....

I always bake it on a cookie sheet in case for some dreaded reason it bubbled over.... which it shouldn't!
Bake 55-60 minutes! Promise it's worth every second of that!
This is what amazement should come out of your oven.....

Let it cool for about 20 minutes then slice into heaven....

I love this pie warm or room temperature. I'm not a milk person but I can see how milk would be needed for this treat.
OH!!
OH!!!
OH!!!!!!
And you're gonna love my next post....
hint.... State Fair of Texas....
hint.... Fried food....
hint.... list of winners...
hint.... mouth watering!!!!!!

This looks like a delicious pie cookie! I wonder if one could skip the pie crust and flip the whole thing upside-down so the top crust acts as the bottom crust. Hmm....
That looks incredible! We'll have to try it at my house. Keep up the good work ;-)
Yummm! It looks fantastic! I was planning to bake something different and I got this...thanks.
this will officially be the first pie i will bake in my apartment. i'm soo excited!!
That does seem like the perfect fall pie. Also my favorite season! And I also really want that glass kitchen aid bowl. Makes baking look so much more elegant :)
This pie is soooo good! I took a warm slice and topped it with a scoop of ice cream!
This was AWESOME! Someone in a recipe swap on facebook linked this website and gave it rave reviews. I tried this without the frozen pie crust. It was good. I think next time I will use the frozen pie crust vs going crustless. We will be making this again! Thanks for sharing.
Melissa! I made this for a Thanksgiving get-together here in Seattle... Everyone loved it! Thanks for posting it!
Great!!!! It's one of my favorites!!!
Oh. My. Lanta. This looks incredible. Now can we deep fry it?
This pie looks absolutely amazing! I would be honored if you wanted to link it to my first ever holiday blog hop recipe swap!
